WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE RATES?

Each private Dutch lesson takes 60 minutes. The above rates are based on an online Dutch language session held via Google Meet. The above rates include the lesson material and homework exercises used during the lessons. A digital copy of the lesson material will be shared digitally via Google Drive. You can print the provided lesson material. Dutch 4 Beginners does not provide printed lesson material.

Extra material, such as writing utensils, stationery, language dictionaries, etc are not included in the above rate.

The above rates also include free access to our online vocabulary course. Details regarding this course will be supplied after the completion of your first 1-to-1 Dutch lesson.

RESCHEDULING prePAID PRIVATE LESSONS

If you need to reschedule or cancel one of your prepaid lessons, please contact Dutch 4 Beginners as soon as possible. Dutch 4 Beginners asks for a minimum of 24 hours' notice. If you contact us prior to the 24-hour notice before the scheduled time of the 1-to-1 Dutch Lesson, we can either reschedule or cancel your lesson without the lesson being charged or lost.

Dutch 4 Beginners will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rescheduling requests, subject to tutor availability. If no new appointment for your 1-to-1 Dutch Lesson that week can be agreed, the lesson will be cancelled; however, the lesson will not be lost and will be added to the end of your scheduled lesson package.

NON-ATTENDANCE

If, for some reason, the student cannot attend a lesson (and does not notify Dutch 4 Beginners before the aforementioned 24-hour notice period) or participate in a lesson, the student will not be reimbursed for the missed lesson.

It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that they have a stable internet connection and functioning equipment required to participate in online lessons.

If technical issues on the student's side prevent meaningful participation in a lesson, the lesson may be deemed delivered and charged. Dutch 4 Beginners may, at its discretion, offer a replacement lesson where circumstances reasonably warrant.

stopping 1-to-1 Dutch LESSONS

Where applicable under consumer protection legislation, students may have a statutory right to cancel their purchase within 14 days of booking.

By booking a 1-to-1 Dutch Lesson scheduled to take place within these 14 days, the student expressly requests that Dutch 4 Beginners begin providing services immediately. If the student subsequently exercises any applicable statutory cancellation rights after lessons have commenced, Dutch 4 Beginners reserves the right to deduct an amount proportionate to the lessons already provided.

If you wish to cancel your prepaid lessons, please contact Dutch 4 Beginners as soon as possible. Dutch 4 Beginners works by the following cancellation policy:

If a new student has already paid for their first private lesson (and further lessons) and changes their mind about learning Dutch with Dutch 4 Beginners before their very first lesson, and notifies Dutch 4 Beginners in writing 48 hours before the very first booked lesson, any prepaid payments will be fully reimbursed. If, within 48 hours before the first private lesson, the first lesson will be charged, and any outstanding private lessons will be fully reimbursed.

If a new student is not satisfied with their very first private lesson and wishes not to continue learning Dutch with Dutch 4 Beginners, and indicates this during their first private lesson, then we will only charge 50% for the first private lesson, and fully reimburse any prepaid payments made for outstanding lessons.

If a new student is not satisfied with their very first private lesson and wishes not to continue learning Dutch with Dutch 4 Beginners, and indicates this after their first private lesson, but before 24 hours before their second private lesson, then the first private lesson will be fully charged, and Dutch 4 Beginners will fully reimburse any prepaid payments made for outstanding private lessons. If, within 24 hours before the second private lesson, the second private lesson will be charged in full, and any following private lessons will be fully reimbursed.

If the student wishes to stop learning Dutch with Dutch 4 Beginners after their second private lesson, Dutch 4 Beginners will reimburse 70% of the value of any unused prepaid lessons, calculated using the package rate originally purchased.

FREEZING LESSONS & EXPIRATION

The student can freeze their lesson schedule and pre-paid lessons if the student needs a break from learning Dutch. During this break, the pre-paid lessons will be held for a period of six months.

The student is responsible for booking and attending lessons before the expiry date. Pre-paid lessons that have not been used within six months of the student's last completed lesson will expire.

Within the six-month break period, the above refund arrangements apply. No refund applies after six months. Dutch 4 Beginners shall not be liable for any unused lessons once the expiry period has passed.

The student may request an extension during the six months if a longer break is required. Approval of any extension remains at the discretion of Dutch 4 Beginners.

ALTERATIONS BY DUTCH 4 BEGINNERS

Dutch 4 Beginners will do its utmost to provide the arrangements that have been confirmed, but reserves the right to reschedule or cancel any lesson if unforeseen circumstances arise.

Where Dutch 4 Beginners cancels a lesson and no mutually acceptable alternative can be arranged, the lesson will be canceled and credit for the lesson will be added to the end of the booked set of lessons.

THIRD PARTY PLATFORMS

Dutch 4 Beginners may use third-party platforms and software providers in the delivery of its services.

While Dutch 4 Beginners will take reasonable care in selecting such providers, Dutch 4 Beginners is not responsible for interruptions, outages or technical failures affecting third-party services.

PRIVACY

Personal information supplied to Dutch 4 Beginners will be processed in accordance with the Dutch 4 Beginners Privacy Policy.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All lesson materials, worksheets, exercises, vocabulary lists, digital resources and other educational content supplied by Dutch 4 Beginners remain the intellectual property of Dutch 4 Beginners.

Materials are supplied solely for the student's personal educational use and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, published, sold, shared with third parties or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

Materials may not be uploaded to websites, social media platforms, artificial intelligence systems, or shared repositories without prior written permission.

LIABILITY OF DUTCH 4 BEGINNERS

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Subject to the above, Dutch 4 Beginners' total liability arising from the provision of services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the student for the affected lessons.

Dutch 4 Beginners cannot be held liable for the failure or improper performance of services where such failure or improper performance is attributable to the fault of the student, unforeseeable or unavoidable actions of an unconnected third party, or unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Dutch 4 Beginners.

FORCE MAJEURE

Dutch 4 Beginners shall not be liable for delays, interruptions or failures in performance resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to internet outages, power failures, illness, government restrictions, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, labour disputes or failures of third-party service providers.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any mandatory consumer rights available under the laws of the student's country of residence.

UPDATING TERMS & CONDITIONS

Dutch 4 Beginners reserves the right to update and alter these Terms & Conditions at any time.

Current students will be informed via email of any material changes to these Terms & Conditions. Changes will not affect lessons already completed or refunds already processed under previous versions of the Terms & Conditions.
